The LPA Story
Life Preparatory Academy (LPA) is a ministry of Iron Life Ministries. It was established in 2018 as a nontraditional, church school environment for scholars and families in the area. During COVID, LPA successfully transitioned to an online learning platform where it continues to serve scholars and families throughout the state of Alabama. Life Preparatory Academy is the choice for parents seeking an alternative to public school education in a home / church school environment. LPA offers a quality education which produces life-long learners who are critical thinkers with a Christ-Centered world-view and an incredible ability to reason.

Our Lead Principal
Sherre Padgett, Ed.S. has been a transformative figure in Educational Leadership for over 25 years. She is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana (B.S. Biology / Pre-med with a minor in Chemistry), University of Alabama at Birmingham (M.A. in Biology Education), Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia, (Ed.S. in Educational Leadership), and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. (Doctor of Education) in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. She taught high school biology courses for eight years and subsequently worked in recruitment and academic support for Auburn University’s College of Sciences and Mathematics. She has consulted for many clients, including Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health, Wall Street 21st Century Community Learning Center, Ready for College, Inc., AAMEN College Prep Program, and The LITE Tutoring Program, and continues to utilize her experience and perspective to empower success for her clients and scholars. Well respected in her field, she quickly became the person of choice, in her region, to consult on educational matters. Through continued success in her ACT preparation, and prep for other standardized tests, she has developed a system of teaching specialized exam strategies that cause students, educational and community organizations, school systems, and colleges to seek her expertise and courses. Additionally, she is proficient in tutoring and academic support in multiple content areas.

Under Mrs. Padgett's leadership, enrollment has grown, a chapter of the National Beta Club was established, LPA graduated its first Gates Foundation Scholar, and had a 100% college-bound graduating Class of 2025 with over $300,000 in scholarship award offers. Additionally, Mrs. Padgett secured partnerships with Auburn University and Auburn University Montgomery for dual enrollment, secured LPA's standing as an Educational Services Provider for CHOOSE Act Alabama so that parents can utilize those ESA funds to fund their scholar's education, and spearheaded growth in numerous other areas. Most of all, she inspires LPA scholars to transform their thinking, take ownership of their learning, and be servant leaders that are led by God. Perhaps her most ambitious project yet is the upcoming plans to expand LPA's outstanding services to other states.
